Bajo la organización de RCN de Madrid, la RFEV, la ISA, y con el apoyo de la Comunidad de Madrid, el Ayuntamiento de San Martín de Valdeiglesias, la Real Federación Madrileña de Vela y PL Sails, se ha disputado este fin de semana la Copa Internacional Amistad para la clase Soling. Un total de 13 pruebas celebradas bajo la modalidad Round Robin, con 13 tripulaciones provenientes de España, Alemania, Italia, Portugal y los Estados Unidos. Las pruebas se disputaron en dos flotas compuestas por barcos cedidos por patrones del RCNM. La organización entrego foques Pires a aquellos que cedieron los barcos, que a su vez habían clasificado en la Copa España recientemente desarrollada.
El equipo de Castilla la Mancha de Álvarez/ Montalbán/ Olmos, se ha proclamado vencedor en esta primera edición en España, segunda del calendario internacional, en la que demostró un claro dominio en el formato round robin.
El campeonato comenzó el viernes con 4 pruebas clasificatorias, dejando para el sábado una larga jornada de 5 pruebas en la que dejaba la clasificación con Dietzel, acompañado en esta primera fase, por Elosegui y Jimenez en primer lugar, seguidos del equipo de Mikel Álvarez empatados a puntos y el equipo de Roman Koch/ Parodi/ Ablático en tercer lugar. Esto aseguró a los primeros siete equipos, a pasar a la flota Oro, mientras con los 6 restantes se disputarían la Plata.
La jornada del domingo regalaba a todos los participantes un magnífico día de regatas, donde se disputarían la final de la flota Plata por la mañana, y a continuación la gran final de la flota Oro.
El equipo formado por Colón/ Allo/ Dietzel conquistarían la Plata en una manga de vientos leves y contantes roles, seguidos de Pérez Villalonga/ Méndez/ P. Villalonga (h.) y el equipo italiano Tognozzi/ Pelosi/ De Bello, en tercer lugar. Por la tarde, el viento aumentó y la flota Oro logró disputar dos grandes pruebas donde el equipo de Castilla la Mancha dominarían desde la salida, seguidos de Dietzel, esta vez acompañado por Alfonso Colón y Manu Allo. El podio lo completaría David Peralta, acompañado de Jose Ángel Martín y Bjorn Geisler.
La Friendship League Championship ha demostrado ser el formato ideal para atraer tripulaciones internacionales al Pantano de San Juan así como también fomentar la confraternidad de esta clase internacional, creada en 1965 y olímpica hasta el año 2000.

Under the organization of RCN de Madrid, the RFEV, the ISA, and with the support of the Community of Madrid, the City Council of San Martín de Valdeiglesias, the Royal Madrilenian Sailing Federation, and PL Sails, the International Friendship Cup for the Soling class was held this weekend. A total of 13 races were held under the Round Robin format, with 13 crews from Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, and the United States. The races took place in two fleets composed of boats loaned by RCNM patrons. The organization awarded Pires foresails to those who loaned their boats, which had previously qualified in the recently developed Copa España.
The team from Castilla la Mancha composed of Álvarez/Montalbán/Olmos emerged as the winners in this first edition in Spain, the second on the international calendar, demonstrating clear dominance in the round-robin format.
The championship began on Friday with 4 qualifying races, leaving a long day of 5 races for Saturday, which determined the standings. Dietzel, accompanied by Elosegui and Jimenez, took first place in the first phase, followed by Mikel Álvarez’s team tied in points, and Roman Koch/Parodi/Ablático in third place. This ensured that the top seven teams advanced to the Gold fleet, while the remaining six would compete in the Silver fleet.
Sunday gifted all participants with a magnificent day of racing, featuring the final of the Silver fleet in the morning, followed by the grand final of the Gold fleet.
The team formed by Colón/Allo/Dietzel conquered the Silver fleet in a race with light and consistent winds, followed by Pérez Villalonga/Méndez/P. Villalonga (h.) and the Italian team Tognozzi/Pelosi/De Bello in third place. In the afternoon, the wind increased, and the Gold fleet managed to compete in two great races where the team from Castilla la Mancha dominated from the start, followed by Dietzel, this time accompanied by Alfonso Colón and Manu Allo. The podium was completed by David Peralta, accompanied by Jose Ángel Martín and Bjorn Geisler.
The Friendship League Championship has proven to be the ideal format to attract international crews to the San Juan Reservoir, as well as to promote camaraderie in this international class, created in 1965 and an Olympic class until the year 2000.
